About the brand

A brand born and raised in Kentucky, Wild Turkey's name is a stamp of quality the world over. Distributing their bourbon through wholesalers in the early 1900s, the brand's name was conceived when one of their wholesalers took several warehouse samples on a wild turkey hunting trip where the bourbon was hugely popular. Since then, Wild Turkey has gone on to dominate as one of Kentucky's most famous and acclaimed bourbon whiskeys, bottling countless mature aged, straight, single barrel, and cask finished varieties. Generally excellent WT item. This was a blessing fortunate me! I discover it not sweet but rather yet not hot incredible generally flavor that ought to fulfill pretty much every whiskey consumer. Steep cost will hinder numerous purchasers which it should. Let'ss face it pretty much all whiskey is scrumptious regardless of whether it'ss $125 or just $25. Unquestionably happy I got the opportunity to attempt this thus a lot of it as well! 3.5/5

So smooth you wouldn't realize it originates from Wild Turkey. Perhaps somewhat meager and short yet it has that signature WT flavor profile - and a lot of it. Exceptionally delicious. Combines well with bleu cheddar and apricots.

Tasting Notes

Nose

A deep inhale fills the nostrils with a warm yet inviting alcohol burn. Old wood, cigar box, caramel, and vanilla show through. Very nice overall.

Taste

Dry, but not overly so. Aged wood, tobacco, cigar box, leather, vanilla, spice, and a hint of char make for a fairly complex sip. Everything is balanced and the individual flavors are fairly subtle here with wood elements being the most dominant although not overbearing.

Finish

The finish starts off with a little more alcohol burn than would be expected for the proof, and then youthful notes of caramel and vanilla take over, but only briefly. Aged wood, tobacco, and cigar box pull through and then linger for some time. As a whole the finish transitions quickly from spicy-sweet into woody and bitter.
