While it may not be South America's most prominent producer of exceptional wine, there is no denying that Uruguay's viticultural scene is as passionate and widespread as any. The most notable varietals being produced here, the high-tannin, acidic Tanna, and the light, palatable Albariño, are arguably finer in Uruguay than anywhere else in the world - which explains why Uruguay is becoming increasingly popular and deservedly celebrated.
